Benefits of Membership
Members of the Singapore Institute of Architects are bound by its constitution and code of conduct
Only Corporate Members and Fellows have voting rights but all members may attend general meetings,
seminars and social events and receive free copies of institute publications such as Singapore
Architect magazine and the RCS News.
Annual subscriptions are paid in advance by the first of January and starting from
- S$31.50 for Student Members,
- S$105 for Retired Members,
- S$262.50 for Associate Members,
- S$504 for Corporate Members and
- S$1575 for Fellow Members.

Membership Categories
The Singapore Institute of Architects has the following membership categories:
Student Members
Graduates of NUS's BA (Architectural Studies) and current students of
Architecture at acceptable universities may become student members of the Institute.
Retired Members
Corporate Members and Fellows may transfer to Retired status upon turning 60
and leaving active practice.
- Associate Members
People who are not registered as Architects in Singapore but who have architecture
degrees or are members of organisations belonging to ARCASIA, the CAA or UIA may
be eligible for Associate Membership. Associate members may use the initials 'ASIA'.
- Corporate Members
Architects registered in Singapore may become corporate members upon application
to the Honorary Secretary and nomination by three existing Corporate Members.
Corporate Members may use the initials 'MSIA' after their name.
- Fellow Members
Corporate Members of particular long standing or distinction may apply or be
recommended for Fellowship of the Institute. Nomination must be made by three
Corporate or Fellow Members, one of whom must be a member of the Council.
Fellow Members may use the appellation 'FSIA'.
- Honorary Members
People with particular knowledge of Architecture or related fields or who have
been of service to the profession may be elected Honorary Members by the Council.
